Why the Lotus
The lotus represents knowledge and enlightenment. It grows in muggy waters and yet it is untouched in it’s purity. This symbolizes the dark and filthy circumstances from which our children come. Yet within them is a purity and beauty waiting to emerge and shine in the midst of their surroundings. Under every dark circumstance is the light of hope.
